Annie Dillard wrote, “How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” On the first of each month, Catching Days hosts a guest writer in the series, “How We Spend Our Days.”
Origin story
Back in the 70’s, when I was living in France, I used to read Elle Magazine, and each week they featured one woman and how she spent her days. I always turned to that column first. So in 2009, when I was looking for a way to include guest writers at Catching Days, I thought back to my fascination with the lives of those women. And now there’s an unbroken chain of writers’ days that goes back to August of 2009—over a decade of essays from over a hundred writers on how each one spent a day in their life.
